Runnerland – An NFT-Driven Nostalgic Gaming Experience
Runnerland is a new game running on the BNB Chain, allowing users to fight, collect, and exchange items for real money. Fueling the game is a collection of rare NFTs enabling players to build and modify their characters into unique assets. Most importantly, gamers can enjoy a bit of action-adventure nostalgia as the game’s universe mimics cult classics like The Legend of Zelda.
This Runnerland review looks closely at the game’s features and blockchain-based utilities. Read on to discover its gameplay, tokenomics, and roadmap!
What is Runnerland?
Runnerland is an “infinite runner game” where players can team up to fight enemies and recover treasures. This style has the characters constantly moving while venturing through various environments. Moreover, this unique online gaming experience should hook gamers on their never-ending quest of improving their NFT-based characters.
In fact, every character is a mix of 3 NFTs, representing the head, body, and equipment. Players can obtain unique combinations through constant upgrading, ultimately producing rare and valuable non-fungible tokens.
An interesting feature of Runnerland is its “Sticker Album,” where players can display their completed characters. This way, avid NFT collectors have an extra reason to play the game. Furthermore, once they complete a page in the album, they will receive various in-game perks.
Runnerland features a dual-token system consisting of the $RLT and $LPT tokens, enabling players to access rewarding opportunities beyond gaming. It’s worth noting that the $RLT token has increased 500% since its launch.
How to Play Runnerland
You will need to purchase a Runner, the game’s main character, to play Runnerland. This is possible by buying one from the in-game marketplace or another player. As you advance in the game, you may have the opportunity to rescue a Runner during an adventure and add it to your roster. Lastly, you can obtain more Runners by breeding them.
Each Runner takes 15 days to mature and become able to breed. You may only breed your characters once you have at least two. Then, the breeding process will result in a random blend of those Runners’ traits.
Thanks to the myriad of available NFTs (head, body, and equipment), breeding may result in up to 810,000,000 combinations of Runners.
Every player is a tavern owner managing his runners’ adventures, jobs, and missions.
Some of the distinct NFT Runners are locked in chests you find on adventures. You will have to defeat monstrous enemies to obtain the keys necessary to unlock them. Alternatively, you can buy the keys in the marketplace if you don’t have the time to go on adventures.
Runnerland Gameplay
Now that you have one or more Runners, you can lead them on adventures through the game’s growing and fascinating ecosystem.
Runnerland has three gameplay modes, although two are still in development.
1. Adventure mode
In this mode, you can send your Runners into the woods to fight various monsters and win rewards.
2. Story mode
Players can travel through numerous environments, complete quests, and slay enemies here. Completing chapters will reward them with $RLT prizes. However, it will also force them to take a 12-hour break before playing again.
3. PvP mode
The Player-vs.-Player (PvP) mode will put players face to face in gruesome battles with important rewards. Every win gives players points, which help them rank in monthly tables. At the end of each period, they receive prizes and unlocked skill cards according to their rank and performance.
This mode and the story feature are not yet available.
Runnerland Features
The Runnerland ecosystem continuously expands, adding new features and ways to attract players. For example, the Sticker Album we discussed above is only one of them. Here are others just as promising:
Staking
Players can use their $RLT tokens for staking, which rewards them with various benefits depending on the value of their stakes. For example, they can obtain lower withdrawal fees or higher daily withdrawal limits. Moreover, gamers can use their staking benefits to increase their characters’ speed power.
The In-Game NFT Marketplace
Runnerland players can use $BUSD in the game’s proprietary NFT marketplace to buy Runners and other items. The game takes a 12% fee for development and marketing activities from every transaction. Also, a fraction of this tax goes toward token buybacks.
The War Shop
This feature enables players to spend tokens from other projects in exchange for Special Orbs. These items help them obtain new cards and items. Those holding old project tokens can use the War Shop to recycle their now-devalued assets.
Referral boost
Lastly, each player can obtain referral benefits by inviting at most 3 new gamers to Runnerland.
Tokenomics
Runnerland divides the project’s utilities between two proprietary tokens:
$RLT
The Runnerland token (RLT) is the in-game reward available in the ecosystem’s environments. Also, players can purchase it on PancakeSwap. The team has set a maximum supply of 496 million RLT tokens, which it will distribute as follows:
- Reward pool: 92.34%
- Marketing operations: 6.05%
- Partners: 1.21%
- Liquidity: 0.40%
$LPT
The Life Point Token (LPT) is an off-chain token enabling players to access the Runnerland Adventure game mode. Also, it will have more uses in upcoming gameplay modes.
Roadmap
According to the Runnerland whitepaper, the project has an extensive roadmap with numerous ambitious steps.
The team spent the first two quarters of 2022 creating the game’s concept and whitepaper. Also, they advertised it on social media and released a game demo together with the Runnerland website.
They organized a Runner NFT Box Pre-Sale in April and launched the project on CoinGecko and Coinmarketcap. Next, they managed an airdrop in mid-May before launching the RLT token on PancakeSwap and the Adventure mode.
Currently, the team is working on character upgrades and the Story mode after releasing the staking and breeding features. Furthermore, the project obtained a successful audit from the industry-leading auditor, Solidproof.
Here are the upcoming development steps in the Runnerland roadmap:
- New Runners – Halloween Edition
- Creating Items for Runners
- New Runners – Christmas Edition
- Release the Sticker Album
- Tavern Decorations
- Launch New Areas in Adventure Mode
- Skill cards for PvP mode
- Launch of PVP mode – Multiplayer

The Bottom Line
Runnerland aims to be a fun infinite runner-style game that combines old-school gaming with modern blockchain benefits. The project is developing relatively fast, releasing new features, and attracting more supporters. We will follow its evolution closely to see how quickly it can burn through the many stages in its ambitious roadmap.
