The Number of Addresses on Tron Network Now 6 Million

According to the founder and CEO of Tron, Justin Sun, there are now 6 million addresses on the Tron network. This notable milestone is due to the increasing number of dApps developed on the network which has become 768 as at last week.

In 2020, the decentralized blockchain network recorded a remarkable increase in use, in spite of its falling market capitalization. As revealed by data from blockchain explorer Tronscan, the number of new addresses created on the network has been growing steadily over the previous 14 days, with an average of 10,000 every day.

However, a factor that could be responsible for the increase in the number of addresses is the new Tron dApps. 1.3 million transactions took place on the main chain and the Sun Network on May 28 relative to 1 million transactions carried out on May 27, says data from a blockchain analytics tracker.

Interestingly, the account growth does not reflect on TRX’s price growth, suggesting the possibility of this being a result of the development of more decentralized applications (dApps) on the network.

The latest dApp Weekly Report released for May 23 to May 29 noted that the number of dApps on the Tron network is now 768. Likewise, it noted that the development of platforms, games, and services on the network remains stable. Justin Sun tweeted about the increase in the number of dApps on the network, noting that 5 more had been added:

During the week indicated in the report, the number of transactions processed on the dApps was 518,000, and over $4.1 million was traded. Many of the dApps belong to two categories (gambling and other high-risk), while only a few of them belong to the exchange category.
